Women and bladder health

Happy International Women's Day! We can't think of a better way to kick-off our blog than with an informative quiz about women and bladder health.

When we talk about women's health, the bladder often doesn't get the attention it deserves. Most healthy adults pass about a quart and a half of urine through the bladder every day, but how much do you actually know about your bladder?

For example, did you know that when empty, your bladder is roughly the size of a pear? As it fills with urine, it grows large and round.

Certain foods can irritate the bladder.  Acidic foods like tomatoes, strawberries and limes can inflame your bladder, especially if you need to urinate often, have pain or feel pressurein your bladder. Alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, some spices, fizzy drinks, pickled foods, and artificial sweeteners can also make things worse.

This year's theme for International Women's Day is #PressforProgress, so in that spirit, we'd like to encourage you and the women in your life to click on our quiz below. Find out how much you know about this most useful and intriguing of body parts, how to keep it healthy and receive a FREE bladder health checklist at the end!
